Birth Control Pills

The birth control pills known as Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella, which are known as fourth generation birth control, are believed to cause a number of different injuries, including heart attack, stroke, deep-vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, gall stones, and kidney stones. Multiple lawsuits have been filed against Bayer Healthcare and Barr Pharmaceutical, so much so that a federal-court MDL regarding these drugs now exists in the Southern District of Illinois. If you or a loved one in Dallas, Fort Worth, or anywhere in Texas has possibly suffered an injury due to the use of Yaz, Yasmin, or Ocella, please contact my office at 1-800-738-4046.

Yaz and Yasmin birth control pills

To the ladies out there I'd like to spend a few minutes talking about the growing number of lawsuits being filed against Bayer in regards to the birth control pills Yaz and Yasmin.

Yaz and Yasmin are combined oral contraceptives that contain drospirenone which is a new type of progestin that is not used in any other birth control pills here in the United States.

Now all of these lawsuits have a few things in common and all agree that the warnings printed with the pills are inadequate because they do not properly indicate the increase risks of these side affects:

* Heart attacks

* Strokes

* Blood clots

* Kidney Failure

* Sudden Death

While all women who take Yaz and Yasmin may be susceptible to these conditions, individuals with a history of kidney and liver disease are particularly susceptible.

Beginning the first quarter of 2004 and ending the third quarter of 2008 over 50 reports of Yaz or Yasmin deaths were reported to the FDA. These deaths involved women as young as 17, from a variety of causes including cardiac arrest, pulmonary embolisms and strokes.

The number of Yaz birth control lawsuits have increased this year, this after a third warning by the FDA that Bayer's advertisements and marketing for these pills are false and misleading.

If you or a loved one has suffered these side effects from taking the birth controls pills Yaz or Yasmin please call my office for a free consultation at 800-738-4046.
